My first mobile post

So it thought I’d try a mobile post to see if it works. Hopefully it should, but I’m wondering if my cache plugin will clear cache afterwards.  I could see this being very useful! A good little iOS app WordPress have here!

Certainly more functional and user friendly than Joomla’s jam app. And what with mobile traffic on the up, UK traffic set to hit 15% of all UK traffic this year, something this should become more and more popular!

UPDATE: So I have taken a look at the post and have some issues with it.  The app failed to place appropriate markup in the post, suggesting I would have to apply HTML markup when creating the post.  A bit of a pain on a mobile device.  Also, I wanted to add a featured image, but instead it only allowed for me to add images to the actual post body.  Useful functionality, but not quite in tune with the latest versions of WordPress.  I’m sure with time these pieces of functionality will be added, but for the moment it limits the capabilities of the app and as a result only micro posts will likely be made.  I would be intrigued to see if this functionality is available on the iPad version of the app.

In addition, the ability to add the ability to create plugins that are updatable via the mobile application would be useful for the development community.  I’d certainly find the option attractive.
